End Embargo Against Cuba

Whereas:
– Canada and Cuba have maintained unbroken diplomatic and cultural ties for over eighty years, with Canadian tourists accounting for over one third of the island’s international visitors each year;
– The United States of America has maintained a unilateral economic blockade of Cuba since 1960, condemned by international observers and legal experts as a form of collective punishment; and
– For thirty-three consecutive years, Canada has voted in support of the annual resolution of the United Nations General Assembly calling for an end to the United States embargo against Cuba.

We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to:
1. Deepen and defend economic and cultural exchanges between Canada and Cuba in the face of United States aggression;
2. Enforce the Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act, to protect Canadian corporations who do business in Cuba against United States sanctions.

Children’s Walk for Gaza

Bring your family together for a meaningful Children’s Walk for Gaza at Downsview Park, North York. Enjoy a safe and uplifting evening while helping raise vital funds for children and families facing humanitarian hardship in Gaza.

Please bring comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, water, light snacks and plenty of positive energy.

Participants will be added to a WhatsApp group for event updates. A giving page will also be created for sharing with family and friends. This course will approach these questions and others through An Introduction to the Three Volumes of Karl Marx’s Capital by Michael Heinrich, one of most approachable and understandable guides through Marx’s masterwork. Capital remains the most important work of critical analysis of capitalism in history, through its exploration of the economic principles that govern capitalism, and the problems faced by workers and society.

NATO and Potemkin Ankara

Attendees of the NATO summit in Ankara in early July were anxious. Prior to the gathering, Donald Trump threatened to withdraw the US from the 32-member alliance, primarily because the organization had refused to support his illegal war on Iran. Trump also claimed to be considering the removal of American troops from Europe in retaliation for the alliance’s opposition to his demand that Denmark, a fellow NATO member, surrender Greenland to the US.

Artificial Intelligence – part 3

In early 2026, AI developers began promoting a new product, AI agents, confident that they would capture business interest and boost AI company profitability. Talk of superintelligence was downplayed in favor of claims that the new technology would enable companies to radically boost productivity while slashing employment.
