CALLS TO ACTION
Enforce the Canada Health Act

The Ontario Health Coalition held a press conference to announce that they have filed formal complaints on behalf of 50 patients who were charged user fees at private clinics.
We released open letters to Sylvia Jones, the provincial Minister of Health and to Marjorie Michel, Federal Health Minister. We are calling on the Ford government to reimburse the patients and take action to stop the private clinics. We are asking the federal government to take all action possible to enforce the Canada Health Act in Ontario where the Ford government is violating it, and we also launched a petition to that effect.

Hands Off Iran
When: June 22nd, 4pm
Where: 360 University, US Consulate
In the past week, the Israeli occupation launched air strikes in Iran. We see this attack for what it is: a brazen attempt to escalate violence and undermine sovereignty in the region. From the Zionist occupation’s full blockade of the West Bank and starvation and genocide in Gaza, to US claims of nuclear weapons, to Carney’s failure to condemn the aggression, we stand against this coordinated imperialist attack on our region.

Hard Questions for Portugal’s Left Bloc After a Terrible Parliamentary Election

The 18 May parliamentary elections were a disaster for Portugal’s Bloco de Esquerda (Left Bloc). The far right replaced the Socialist Party as the main opposition to the conservative government, and may now push for constitutional changes. All left parties suffered but none as much as the Left Bloc. Its vote collapsed, and it lost 4 of its 5 seats in the Assembly of the Republic (parliament). In this National Board resolution, the Left Bloc leadership takes stock of the legislative election results, starting from the national context and the party’s campaign, to find answers for the future.

The Indonesian People’s Movement Need to Build a Political Party

Twenty-seven years after the fall of Suharto (1921 – 2008), the Indonesian Poor People’s Union (SPRI) argues that democratic promises have been hijacked by oligarchs and capital owners who continue to dominate through co-opted political parties and state institutions. In this translated manifesto from a May 2025 public discussion, SPRI activists make an urgent case for building a new political party “born from the womb of the people’s struggle” rather than elite boardrooms.

Even Germany Now Condemns Israeli Crimes

By Patrycja Wieczorkiewicz
After months of silence and excuses, the European Union is beginning to speak directly about Israeli war crimes. Even Berlin – previously Netanyahu’s most loyal ally in Europe – suggests that “not everything can be justified anymore by the fight against terrorism.” Is this the beginning of real change, or merely moral window dressing? Just last autumn, Friedrich Merz, whilst seeking the chancellorship of Germany, promised “unlimited arms deliveries to Israel” and assured that Germany would support its “right to self-defence.” This was long after the number of casualties in Gaza and the West Bank had exceeded 50,000.
